HRE reveal outcome Turkish occupation mercenaries' attacks within two months

On Saturday, HRE issued a written statement to the public, revealing the outcome of the attacks launched by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries on the cantons of Afrin and al-Shahba, during the months of August and September of 2019, and confirmed the forces to respond to these attacks, and continue the resistance until the liberation of Afrin, and the return its people to their land and homes.

The text read:

"Since 18 January 2018, the Turkish occupation has continued its attacks with the aim of breaking the will of our resistance people in Afrin and al-Shahba areas, where they have increased the frequency of these attacks in the recent period, taking advantage of the international silence and the inaction of international human rights organizations, thus endangering the lives of tens of thousands of civilians.

It is noteworthy that these attacks, which violate the international laws of war, directly target the homes and farms of civilians, in addition to targeting safe areas in al- Shahba, causing to displace residents of Afrin due to the terrorism of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, where the area is subjected to daily attacks with artillery, tanks and mortars ,and other attacks by reconnaissance planes, and stresses that the Turkish occupation is continuing in the policies of extermination and forced removal of our people from their land.

During the months of August and September, as in the months preceding them, the Turkish occupation escalated its attacks on the region from the occupied areas of Afrin, Azaz and al-Bab.

The outcome of these attacks is as follows:

Shara district: the villages of Marnaz, al-Malikiyah, al-Shawargh castle, , Meng, al-Alqamiya and Ain Dagna.

-Sherawa district: Soganka, Akiba, Mayassa, Bashmara, Burj Kass, Binneh villages and Gundê Mezin.

Al-Shahba areas: villages and towns of Tel- Rifaat, Harbel, Samouqa, Beiluniya, Sha'ala, Tel- Ziwan, Tel -Jijan, Nirbia, Tel- al-Mudiq, Sheikh Issa, Sheikh Hilal.

- Number of attacks: 76 attacks, including 6 by reconnaissance reconnaissance aircraft.

- The number of artillery shells, tanks, mortars, which were used in those attacks 1868, and hundreds of shots Dushka weapon.

Nine civilians were injured during the attacks, and villagers' homes and farms were severely damaged, and their daily living was hampered.

In this regard, we reiterate our emphasis on responding to these attacks and continuing the resistance until the liberation of Afrin and the return of its people to their land and homes.
