Constitutional Committee is a farce against Syrian people

Many dignitaries of the Derik region expressed their rejection of the Syrian Constitutional Committee and its outputs, stressing that it represents only parties that reject the rights of peoples and components.

Elders and dignitaries of the Derik region of Qamishlo canton expressed in brief remarks to our agency their rejection of the outputs of the Constitutional Committee.

Ahmed Haji Mahmoud al-Shami, a member of the tribal council, said that the declared constitutional committee does not represent all the sects of the Syrian people, especially after the exclusion of the components of northern and eastern Syria "who defended their areas.

Al-Shami added, "The composition of the Constitutional Committee is a farce against the Syrian people because it includes only the stakeholders and a small category of the Syrian people. Therefore, the Syrian people should be involved in the drafting of a constitution that solves the Syrian dilemma.

The Syrian crisis has led to the displacement and killing of millions of Syrian people because there are no representatives to represent them in international forums," said Hawass Jidea, an elder of the Council of Tribes and Notables in Al-Jazeera.

He pointed out that the solution to the Syrian crisis focuses on two main points, "a Syrian-Syrian dialogue that serves all the Syrian people without distinction, and the preparation of a new constitution to end this crisis, which targeted the peoples and components in Syria in general.

"The Geneva and Astana conferences failed due to the non-participation of the components of the Syrian people, which complicated the Syrian crisis without any solution that puts an end to the tragedies of the suffering people," he added.

He continued, "The constitutional committee announced includes" the Syrian coalition political interface of mercenary groups that do not recognize the doctrines, components and sects, and the Baathist regime known for its actions on the Syrian arena.

He noted that the parties participating in the Constitutional Committee adopt a "radical philosophy towards the components and peoples, and they have no right to draft a constitution in the name of the components and peoples of Syria."
