Al-Shahba celebration ends with insisting on Newroz 2020 be in Afrin

Thousands of people from Afrin and al-Shahba celebrated Newroz day which is different from previous years. This year, the people of Afrin celebrated amid the second phase of the Resistance of the Age and insisted on liberating Afrin and igniting the flames of freedom on Mount Lilon.

Dressed in Kurdish costumes, they marched to the village of Alousha, carrying Kurdish symbols, flags of the People's and Women's Protection Units and pictures of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The ceremonial square was adorned with flags of the People's and Women's Protection Units, photographs of the martyrs of the Resistance of the Age, Leyla Guven and her comrade hunger strikers, and pictures of the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan, including the name of Afrin with the olive branches as a symbol of Afrin.

There was a high morale among the crowds and the celebrants waiting for the message of victory. This was shown by the families of the martyrs igniting the fire of Newroz, all the people gathering around the torch and chanting "Long Live Newroz" and saluting the resistance of Afrin."

In the series of the celebration program, which included words delivered by the Martyrs' Families Council, co-chair of the executive board of the Democratic Syrian Council, Ilham Ahmed, as well as reading the message of the People's Protection Units, Kongra Star, Afrin Canton's Council, al-Shahba Council and the Arab component Radwan Rifai. Political blocs and parties, "and all the words focused on the consolidation of the work in the liberation of Afrin after the elimination of IS mercenaries, and dismissing the occupiers of Syrian territory.

Newroz eid in al-Shahba also included several singing performances by bands from Kobani and Qamishlo to commemorate Newroz this year with the people of Afrin.

The people keenly interacted with the artistic bands dancing Dabka and applauding and chanting slogans that salute Newroz.
