Al-Qaftan: Betrayal enters Syria into dark tunnel, deepens Syrian crisis

On the statements made by the president of the Syrian regime, the head of Future Syria Party, Ibrahim al-Qaftan told ANHA agency, "Let me start by saying that the speech issued by the president of the Syrian regime is a speech that does not include all the people of Syria because everyone knows that more than 14 million Syrians are displaced and refugees, and he has controlled only half of Syria area through some of the forces supporting him and some areas are still occupied by the Turkish occupation."

Al-Qaftan noted that the adherence of the regime to its mentality is one of the reasons for not finding a solution to the Syrian crisis. He added, "We also note that the speech contains several axes as the previous speeches, which are not loyalists of the treacherous group or in the agent group. This mentality confirms that there is no real reform in Syria and a conciliatory speech, and the president of the Syrian regime has said more than once that the Syrian person is not the holder of the Syrian identity or the Syrian passport, but the Syrian who corresponds with their vision and their project, whether it was of any party."

He explained that decentralization is the most appropriate solution for the Syrian crisis. He said in this regard, "If we want to build Syria, pluralism, decentralization, democracy and respect the other's opinion must be a basis, not as al-Assad said. The 1971 law is not suitable for this stage. We in the Future Syria Party believe that anyone holds the Syrian ID is a Syrian, and if we disagree with the opinion, the right situation is the difference of vision, not the armed conflict which displaced, killed and abandoned."

He criticized in his remarks the statements of the president of the Syrian regime, and considered it a betrayal speech more than being a willing to national dialogue, adding, "What we wish from the president of the Syrian regime speech was to be a conciliatory speech with the Syrian people, to invite them to the dialogue table to stop the bloodshed and help to regain the refugees and the consensus to draft a new constitution for Syria guaranteeing the rights of all Syrians and all components of the Syrian people, not to go out, attack and betray, and to say that drafting the constitution is something that cannot be tolerated, and that the price is greater than the war price, and does not except through what he sees, noting that the stage requires a national dialogue based on the national guarantees unity basis and religious identity and respect for all cultures, languages, religions and races of the region."

As for the party's vision to overcome the Syrian crisis and to reach the necessary elements to resolve the crisis, the head of the Future Syria Party Ibrahim al-Qaftan called on all national forces and political parties, including the Syrian government to dialogue with the people of Syria, thus withdrawing all files from the intervening forces in Syria, and transferring the armed conflict to a political dialogue based on national foundations that do not establish hegemony and control.

Al-Qaftan said that the brutality will only lead to the entry of the country into a dark tunnel and prolong the life of the Syrian crisis. "We will continue to betray each other if we go towards a dark tunnel in Syria, prolonging the crisis and increasing foreign intervention to achieve the interests of the conflict in Syria, forget the interests of the people of Syria and become fuel for regional and international conflicts."
