110 people went on hunger strike in Amuda

The hunger strike of the co-chair of the Democratic Society Congress, Leyla Guven, entered its 96th day in a row, denouncing the inhumane violations committed by the Justice and Development Government (AKP) against the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan and the impose of a severe isolation on him for nearly three years. In support of the demands of the activist Leyla Guven and all the hunger strikers, Kongra Star in Amoda set up a sit-in tent for the hunger strike on Monday in coordination with the district's council. The hunger strike is scheduled to continue for three days in a row.

The hunger strike tent erected in front of Martyrs' Families Council in the district, and it was decorated with the pictures of the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan and the activist Leyla Guven. On the first day, 110 people from Amuda district have joined the tent.

During the hunger strike, a speech was delivered by the administrator in Kongra Star in Qamishlo canton Menoura Khaled, and she said, "We, as Kongra Star in Rojava, continue our activities in solidarity with the activist Leyla Guven and all her comrades until the isolation of leader Ocalan is lifted."

Menoura noted, "The international silence about the harsh isolation imposed on Ocalan by the Turkish authorities is evidence of their partnership with Turkey in the conspiracy against the leader that led to his arrest."
