Despite all tricks, hunger strikers say we to continue resistance

Since July 27th, 2011, the Turkish state has been imposing an intensive isolation on the Kurdish people leader Abdullah Ocalan as it prevents the lawyers to meet their client.

To condemn these violations, the co-chair of the Democratic Society Conference and the parliamentarian in the Democratic Peoples' Party Leyla Guven went on hunger strike 87 days ago, and it is still ongoing. After Leyla Guven did that, the young man Nasir Yagiz went on a hunger strike 74 days ago in Hewler city. The politicians detained in the Turkish prisons also followed Leyla Guven and Nasir Yagiz's path and they have been on hunger strike since 48 days. After that, activists in Strasbourg declared their hunger strike 47 days ago.

In order to stand against the hunger strikers' resistance, the Turkish state allowed Ocalan's brother Mohammed Ocalan to meet him in January 12th, but the resistance of Leyla Guven, Nasir Yagiz and all the hunger strikers did not stop.

The Turkish state released Leyla Guven in January 25th to break her resistance, but Leyla's goal was not to be released, rather, to end the isolation on Ocalan so that she has not ceased her hunger strike at her home in Amed.

Leyla Guven said during a statement published on Friday, "We foiled the Turkish state's scheme to undermine our resistance. Resistance is life."

The resistance's decision spread all over Kurdistan and the world. Most of the parliamentarians of the world, the revolutionaries, and women's organizations declared their solidarity with Leyla Guven and her comrades. 

In spite of all the Turkish state's tricks, the hunger strikers say, "We will continue the hunger strike and resistance."
