3rd conference of PYD initiated in Serêkaniyê

On Wednesday morning, the third conference of Democratic Union Party has been held in Serêkaniyê. Under the slogan “With Determination and Organization, We Will Liberate Afrin, and Establish a Decentralized Democratic Syria."

A banner with the slogan, "Resistance Will Protect the Gains of the Revolution," written on, as well as PYD flags and pictures of the Kurdish people 's leader Abdullah Ocalan were hung in the hall.

The conference was attended by 300 delegates from Serêkaniyê the majority of whom attended Kurdish folkloric uniforms. Many guests were also attended by representatives of political parties, tribal sheikhs, a delegation of Democratic Autonomous Administration DAA, and The Co-chair of Democratic Union Party PYD Shahoz Hassan.

The conference began with a speech delivered by the Co-chair of Democratic Union Party, Shahoz Hassan, who welcomed the participants and the delegates. "In the presence of representatives of all the components of the region in this conference, this shows clearly the adherence of the peoples to the democratic nation system that united the peoples, and in Serêkaniyê is being shown as model of co-existence clearly.

"Our party, which was founded by virtue of the sacrifices of the martyrs, is being targeted today by the enemies of democracy, unity of peoples, the party that represents the will of the people in Syria today is the PYD, and all the peoples and components in the north and east of Syria have taken the party's approach as a project for themselves. Therefore, the Turkish occupation state, after its occupation of Afrin, which is considered and good example of the safest and most peaceful area in Syria, Today, the regions of north and east of Syria are still being threatened by Turkish occupation in try to remove this democratic model that has emerged in the region by virtue of the struggle and sacrifices of North Syria's people.

Shahoz stressed that despite all these threats, their party seeks to build a democratic Syria for all Syrians.

And Shahoz touched upon the buffer zone which Turkey claim to establish it, "The Turkish occupier continues to threaten the regions of the north and east of Syria, Turkey and since 2011 threaten those areas, and these areas are all safe in advance, the Turkish state says it will supervise the establishment of a "buffer zones”, but the presence of the Turkish occupying will bring the danger and chaos to our areas like what had happened in Afrin and other occupied Syrian areas. Today the Turkish state is targeting the security of the people here.
