French delegation praised women's experience

The delegation composed of French parliamentarians headed towards Kongra Star's Diplomatic Relations Center in Qamişlo canton, and this is considered the first visit of its kind that includes a French parliamentary delegation. Moreover, the delegation reached Rojava on Monday through Semalka crossing border in order to consider the Democratic Autonomous Administration's (DAA) experience and transfer their points of view to the French Administration after they stopped by Newroz camp in Dêrik city in the first day to be acquainted with the Yazidi people's situation and their requirements.  

The delegation that visited the Diplomatic Relations Center of Kongra Star included the parliamentarians Matilda Banot, Daniel Obono, and the governor and politician of Greene Trude Pascal Trador.  

The spokeswoman on behalf of Kongra Star Avin Sweid and the members of Kongra Star's Relations Qadriyya Hussein, Nejbeer Teyyar and Fidan Seydo received the delegation.

In the meeting, the method of developing Rojava Revolution and the prior role of women in the various fields, especially the military and organizational domains were discussed.

Matilda Banot said that they are in a short visit to Rojava, and the reason is their admiration of the democratic system represented by the democratic nation project among the components in Rojava and the Syrian north.

The parliamentarian Daniel Obono pointed out that the women in Rojava have taken the leading role in developing the nation's democratic project, and that they encourage a democratic experiment based on women's freedom and ecology.

The delegation also stressed their condemnation of the Turkish occupation of Afrin city, and that they will convey what they saw in Rojava to the parliamentarians and the French government, especially the co-existence among the peoples.

The delegation said that they will discuss with the French government the need to impose an air embargo on the north and east of Syria, so that the people will remain safe from the Turkish state's threats.

After the end of their visit to Kongra Star's Relations Center, the parliamentary delegation went to the martyrs' cemetery in Qamişlo city, where they were received by the families of the martyrs. Moreover, the delegation toured in the shrine and put floral wreaths on the graves of martyrs.

At the end of the visit, the delegation headed to the International Martyrs Square in Maysaloun neighborhood to head then towards Semelka to return to France.
