Ed-Dirbasiya citizens: We live safely, not threatened as Erdogan claims

The citizens' resentment in northern and eastern Syria is increasing about the threats launched by the Turkish President Recep Teyyip Erdogan, pledging to protect their land from any terrorist attacks.

Hawar news agency considered the opinions of the citizens of ed-Dirbasiya district of al-Hasakah canton, north of Syria, and in turn confirmed their preservation of the land from any aggression.

The citizen Mohammed Yehya condemned the Turkish threats against north and east of Syria and said, "Erdogan continues to say that he is coming to liberate the people of the north and east of Syria from injustice. We say to him that we live a normal life and our region witnesses safety and security. We are not threatened or live in danger to come to us."

He added, "Erdogan, under the pretext of protecting his borders, occasionally launches threats to invade the Syrian north, but history confirms that no one stone has been thrown from this border to the Turkish border. Erdogan's propaganda comes from vacuum and illusions."

The citizen Mohammed Omer noted, "We do not concern the Turkish threats because we have a military force to protect us."

The citizen Ferid Sheikha said, "If we return to history, we will always see that the peoples of the Middle East have suffered from the atrocities of wars at the hands of the Ottomans. In the modern century, Turkey is trying to restore its former glories, and to reoccupy these areas. Its attempts to occupy the north and east of Syria, Afrin, Jarablus, Azaz and al-Bab are not except for the continuation of its policy based on destruction.

He stressed that the goal of Turkey is not this region in the north and east of Syria, but its expansionist project aims to extend the control over the whole country.

The citizen Jihan Issa stressed that the Turkish threats would not break the will of the peoples of the region. She said, "We will resist any terrorist who violates our land and honor."
