Planting mine operation foiled in Manbij, perpetrator killed

The forces of the Manbij Military Council foiled an attempt by a mercenary to plant a mine on al-Mazerli road, west of the city, and managed to kill him while trying to escape.

On Thursday evening, the troops of Manbij Military Council managed to thwart the operation of planting a mine on al-Mazerli road, west of the city's center.

According to what sources from Manbij Military Council stated to our ANHA agency, the mercenary was carrying the mine and attempting to plant it on al-Mazerli road, but Manbij Military Council's forces with their intensive patrols and through the surveillance cameras deployed in most streets of the city were able to detect the process, and pursued it.

The source said the fighters of Manbij Military Council killed the mercenary while he was trying to flee. Furthermore, no information was mentioned about the identity of the mercenary.

It is worth mentioning that on Wednesday, Manbij witnessed an explosion by a suicide bomber wearing an explosive belt, and that resulted in losing a number civilians and soldiers for their lives.
