In solidarity with Guven, 30 Şengal's Yazidis went on huger strike

The hunger strike of Leyla Guven in the prisons of the Turkish fascist state, demanding to lift the isolation on the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan entered its 71st day, and in solidarity with her demands, 30 Yazidi people from Şengal of Newroz camp in Dêrik district in Qamishlo canton also went on hunger strike.

In this context, Hawar news agency interviewed some hunger strikers in Newroz camp. In this regard, Zahra Shemo said that the aim of this hunger strike is to stand in solidarity with the struggler Leyla Guven who symbolizes free women. She said, "We, as Yazidi women, will stand with Leyla Guven until her demands are fulfilled."

Zahra also condemned the isolation imposed on the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan in Imrali prison. She said, "We consider the leader's thought as the spirit of the Yazidi people because his ideology and philosophy liberated the Yazidi people, and thanks to the fighters who adopt his ideology and struggle, many Yazidi women have been liberated from IS mercenaries."

The citizen Hadi Mukheiber said, "We salute the resistance of the struggler Layla Guven and her comrades in the Turkish fascist prisons, and we declare our solidarity with them until the end of the isolation imposed on Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan in Imrali prison."

Mukheiber continued, "The Yazidi people will not be liberated as long as the leader is present in the prisons of the Turkish fascist state, so we will continue our condemning activities until the freedom of the leader Ocalan is achieved."

The events of the sit-in tent include speeches that emphasize the solidarity with Leyla Guven and her comrades until the isolation of the leader of the democratic nation, Abdullah Ocalan, will end in addition to showing a short film about the international conspiracy that targeted Ocalan. Furthermore, the representatives of the civil society institutions in Dêrik, Newroz camp's refugees who are flocking towards the sit-in tent for standing in solidarity with the hunger strikers are being received.
