Afrin intellectuals: Turkey aims to establish new Ottoman Sultanate

ANHA correspondents scouted a number of intellectuals' opinions in al-Shahba canton about the occupation and purpose of the Turkish state and the establishment of the Ottoman state again in the occupied territories.

The member of the Intellectuals Union Mohammed Abdo explained that the Turkish occupation since its inception to this day is based on its filthy policies of killing, torture, destruction and extermination of peoples. He continued, "In the World War I, the massacre committed against the Armenian component left thousands of victims for the sake of establishing the Ottoman state."

Abdo added, "Today, Turkey adopts the same policy in northern and eastern Syria as it occupies the Syrian territories under the pretext of fighting terrorism, and its aim is to re-establish the Ottoman sultanate again."

Abdo noted that the Turkish occupation always seeks to remove the existence of the Kurdish people because they are the owners of a democratic project and thought, pointing out that they committed the massacres in Bakur Kurdistan and destroyed the houses for the Kurds not to reach their freedom and purpose. He added, "Turkey always is against the freedom of peoples."

The writer Mohammed Walid noted, "Turkey eliminates the peoples, especially the Kurdish people, and Afrin is a good example of that. Turkey's goal of the aggression on the Syrian north is not only the Kurds, but all the peoples of the region because its way to establish the Ottoman Sultanate is closed due to the democratic project in the north of Syria."

"Turkey is an occupying state and its history is based on destruction, devastation, killing and eliminating the peoples and their culture to protect its interests," Walid said.

The member of the Intellectuals Union Rokan Hussein called on all the peoples of the region to organize themselves to resist against the Turkish aggression which seeks to occupy the Syrian territories and build an Ottoman state under the pretext of fighting terrorism.
