Iran supports entry of Syrian army to Manbij to confront Turkish aggression

Iran announced Friday its support for the entry of the Syrian army into the city of Manbij to confront the potential Turkish aggression and considered it a new step to resolve the Syrian crisis.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasimi supported in a statement Friday "the Syrian government entry of Manbij to face a possible attack by the Turkish army."

The statement added that "the Islamic Republic of Iran stresses the need to respect the sovereignty of Syria on its territory and stresses that raising the Syrian flag in Manbij in a new step to resolve the Syrian crisis."

The General Command of the Syrian army and armed forces, announced earlier today, the entry of units of the Syrian army to Manbij city of Aleppo countryside, stressing the "full security of all Syrian citizens and others in the region.
