Russian official :Moscow is ready to mediate between Damascus ,MSD

Bloomberg agency quoted Mikhail Bogdanov who is the Russian president's envoy to the Middle East as saying  "Russia is ready to mediate between Damascus and MSD in northern Syria."

While Reuters said Turkey has occupied the northwestern Afrin canton this year after a two-month offensive.

Officials in MSD visited Moscow last week and will soon make another visit to the Russian capital, hoping Russia will push Damascus to "fulfill its sovereign duty," Aldar Khalil told Reuters.

Badran Jia, a senior official who went to Moscow last week said  "To counter a Turkish attack we are discussing various options .We have contacted Russia, France and EU countries to help."

He added, "It is the responsibility of the Syrian government to protect the borders of this region, which is under discussion."

SDF and Damascus began negotiations in June on security and military issues.

Elham Ahmed, who held talks with Damascus earlier this year, told Reuters that contacts with the state had never stopped.

"We will try by all means to put pressure on this regime to reach a political settlement in order to preserve the dignity of Syrian citizens, "Reuters quoted Ilham Ahmed as saying at a meeting of tribes on Wednesday."

The General Command of the People's Protection Units today issued a written statement to the public stating that they had fought terrorism. Today, they are being threatened by the Turkish state and called upon the armed forces of the Syrian state to protect Manbij region from threats by the Turkish state.

On the other hand, the Syrian army command issued a statement circulated by the media about the entry of units of the Syrian army to the borders of Manbij area.

According to the statement, units of the Syrian army entered the borders of Manbij and raised the Syrian flag in it. "Emphasizing the importance of concerted efforts of all the sons of the nation in the maintenance of national sovereignty renewed its insistence on defeating terrorism and defeat all invaders .
