Report: Turkey earned $ 10 billion of human trafficking

According to a report published on the Turkish website "Ahwal," the number of people who crossed the border between Turkey and Greece illegally since 2015 reached more than a million people, noting that human smugglers have earned more than 10 billion dollars from the smuggling operations.

The report said that the year 2018 witnessed a slight increase in the number of the cases of crossing the border illegally compared with 2017, noting that in the first 11 months in 2018 registered 45, 737 cases compared to 35, 52 people in 2017 according to figures issued from the International Organization for Migration.

These numbers are much lower than those recorded in 2015 when the European borders were effectively filled by illegal immigrants. The total number of the people who crossed the Greek-Turkish border in 2015 reached 853,000 with an average of 2,300 people a day.
