During IS domination of several areas in North-East Syria ,the women have been denied of their right to live freely, not to mention their use as a commodity to be sold and bought in the markets, but after the liberation of the region by SDF, they have activated their role in all fields.

The Women Council in al-Jazrat area affiliated to Deir ez-Zor opened a cooperative assembly for women in the form of a bakery for nearly a year.

There are five women working in the bakery. It has producing about three tons a day. The millers in the area are providing the flour to the bakery

Rauda al-Awad, a worker in the bakery said "During the IS occupation, the mercenaries had spread strife between us. But today, after liberation, we began to spread the cooperative and coexistence spirit between us, so we are now working together in the bakery."

She added that mercenaries denied women their role in reinforcement the economy, and stressed that this bakery provided job opportunities for women in the region.
