Turkey erases culture of areas it occupies

The residents of Tel Hamis district of Qamishlo organized a hunger strike in solidarity with the demands of the struggler Leyla Guven to lift the isolation on the Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan. They also denounced the Turkish threats to the areas of the north and east of Syria. The hunger strike continued for two days, and hundreds of residents of the district joined it. On Wednesday, the people of the district ended the hunger strike by issuing a statement to the public opinion. The statement was read by the co-chair of Tel Hamis Council Saleh al-Khalaf, and it included,

"We note that recently, the Turkish authorities, led by Erdogan, have launched an intensive campaign of threats to our region, launched attacks and sent more reinforcements to the northern border in order to raise concern in the hearts of our people, where the Turkish President Erdogan threatened to attack the areas of northern and eastern Syria. Erdogan seeks to impose himself on the region and, impose looting, occupation, killing and torture, and he seeks to carry out genocide against the peoples of the region, especially the Kurdish people, who led the vanguard of freedom and democracy. He wants to plunder the region's oil, gas, water and agricultural crops.

It is known that Erdogan's goal is to change the balance in the Middle East in his favor and to influence many forces in the Middle East. Turkey is trying to hide this aspect of its occupying efforts and to show its attacks as targeting the Kurdish component, specifically the freedom movement of the Kurdish people. The history of the Ottoman Turkish state is full of crimes committed against the people of the region; the extermination, displacement and torture of the people with the most severe torture methods.

Everyone must know that the areas controlled by the Ottoman occupation have been complaining about the policy pursued by the Turkish state adopting the Turkification policy, the eradication of the culture of the region and the demographic change applied to it.

The statement ended with chanting the slogans that condemn the Turkish occupation in Syria and the isolation imposed on the leader Ocalan.
