ANHA agency enters Hajin, monitors the destruction's extent

The town of Hajin has witnessed the fiercest battle for four months ago in the last pocket of IS east of the Euphrates River as part of al-Jazeera Tempest campaign "Battle to defeat terrorism" led by SDF

Liberation of Hajin needs two days

The SDF leader Zanar Awaz, in an exclusive statement to ANHA agency, attributed the reason for delaying the liberation of Hajin to the use of the civilians as human shields by IS mercenaries in addition to the gathering of remnants of this organization within this small spot.

Awaz, who is leading Hajin liberation operation, points out that the IS' resistance has been reduced on car bombs and mines.

Military observers believe that the liberation of Hajin town would be a severe blow to IS, which would facilitate the liberation of al-Shafa and al-Sousa towns in the same strip of the Euphrates River, according to the strategic place of Hajin, which would directly affect the clearing of the area entirely from IS clutches.

ANHA inters Hajin 

After receiving the green light from military leaders, ANHA correspondent, accompanied by a media team from various media, managed to enter Hajin with armored vehicle.

As we entered the town, journalists were not allowed to go down at several stations to document the destruction for their own safety. We drove through the windows of the vehicle to reach the town market, specifically in front of Hajin hospital, which is just 1 km away.

The town appeared to be a ghosts' home where there is no civilians, and the town was almost completely destroyed.

Abu Samra, a fighter from the border town, says that IS are retreating in front of their beatings.

In the pictures and videos taken from the town, houses are destroyed and others are leveled with earth, roads filled with rubble and booby-trapped car bombs leaving only their shape.

It is reported that during the clashes in the town of Hajin, the SDF fighters managed to liberate thousands of civilians from IS' grip and delivered them to the safe areas liberated by SDF to preserve their lives.
