The Information Office of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a statement to the public opinion on its official website regarding the Turkish aggression on Şengal and Mexmûr, and expressed its rejection of Turkey's use of Iraqi airspace in any attack.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Turkish ambassador to Baghdad Fatih Yildiz and handed him a letter of protest over repeated air violations by Turkey .The Ministry condemns the actions of Turkish aircraft violated the Iraqi airspace and targeting several sites in the areas of Sinjar Mount and Mexmûr in northern Iraq, which caused loss of life and property..

Such acts violate Iraq's sovereignty, security and citizens and are unacceptable to all levels, contrary to the principles of good-neighborliness that bring together the two countries. The Foreign Ministry also reiterates its refusal to use Iraqi territory as a base or a corridor to carry out acts that reflect the security of neighboring countries.

And calls on the Turkish side to abide by this in order to maintain the friendly relations between the two countries.
