Al-Tabqa women strengthen their economy

The Cooperative Societies House of al-Tabqa area is preparing to open two projects in which the contribution and the greater share would be for women. This House proves that women are capable of transforming the individual life into the cooperative life among the people.

The economic projects in which women participate are considered the second of its kind in al-Tabqa city and its countryside after the opening of al-Mouna Store (Food Store) project specialized for women.

About the two projects and the steps that are carried out, the co-chair of the Cooperative Society House Nijma al-Hilal said that the aim of the two associations is to create jobs for the largest number of women and increase the participation of women in the independent economy which encourages self-reliance by achieving material and moral gains in the economy and the effective contribution to its development.

The first association will be on behalf of "Women of the Euphrates". Its activities are concentrated in the handcrafts of woolen garments, beads, accessories and the most important task is to recycle the damaged materials of textiles and cardboard boxes for later investment in the work.

Women of the Euphrates Association, which will open in the second neighborhood in front of the Culture and Art Center, includes more than 18 contributors, each of which participates with a various number of shares in the project as all the technical tools for the work; sewing machines, embroidery machines, knitting machines, textile skewers in addition to the needles specialized for hand embroidery were ensured.

Najma pointed out that the financial cost of each project is estimated at nearly one million SP, divided on shares to participate, and the project is expected to open after about a month and a half.

The second association that was named "Women of the Future", in which more than 15 women alongside 5 men participate. It is a sewing operator where the most experienced tailors in the area work.

The operator will involve 16 sewing machines, four of them would be for plotting, as well as cutting and irons tables. Furthermore, the operator will be opened in the Consumer Corporation in al-Mahajeh neighborhood.

With regard to the two projects, Nijma al-Hilal expressed her optimism and belief in the ability of women. She said, "Through these projects, we have noticed the desire of women to flock towards such projects and their passion to work through their volunteerism and work on the preparation of the two projects. Day after day, women prove that they are able to work in all fields and they prove themselves and their effectiveness in society."

It is noteworthy that the Cooperative Societies House has previously activated the fish farms project in the beginning of its establishment several months ago.
