Tomorrow …International forum on demographic change, ethnic cleansing in Afrin

Under the auspices of Rojava Center for Strategic Studies, an international forum will be held on Sunday about the ethnic cleansing and demographic change in Afrin canton in Amuda district of Qamishlo canton.

According to overseeing committee of the works of the forum, it is scheduled that a selection of political and academic figures and administrators of local, regional and international civil society institutions will attend, where the forum will continue for 3 consecutive days on the 2nd-3rd-4th of December.

The forum aims to discuss the ethnic cleansing and demographic change taking place in Afrin canton by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries after they occupied it on 18 March.

A discussion will be held about a way to limit these violations, and clarify the exposure of what happened in Afrin canton at the hands of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries since the occupation of the city.

Several aspects of ethnic cleansing and demographic change such as the political, military, historical, economic and juristic aspects will be addressed through sessions.

According to officials, the first day of the forum will witness discussions from the political and military aspects, the next day will address the economic, historical and juristic aspects and the third day will be a closing session. Furthermore, a final statement will be released along with holding a press conference.
