“PYD since founding was plotted against by freedom enemies”

Administrator of the Democratic Union Party Maysa Baqi whose nom de guerre is Shilan Kobani, Zakariya Ibrahim (Zakariya), Fouad (Hekmet Tokmak), Jamil(Nabo Ali), and Joan (Haji Jumma Ali) in November 29, 2004 were assassinated in Iraq’s Mosul city.

The Democratic Union Party’s branch in Tirbesipiye commemorated martyr Shilan and her comrade founders of the party during a meeting at Yekta Herkul in the district where dozens of components and party members attended.

The meeting began with holding a minute of silence on martyrs souls, then Dirok Mullah Bashir, a PYD administrator in Tirbesipiye welcomed the attendees, and assured that they are following the path of freedom martyrs.

PYD’s representative in Başûr Suliaman Arab noted that the party and its founders have been plotted against by freedom enemies in order to prevent the thought of freedom and democracy from spreading among the northern and eastern Syrian components as they realized their salvation from enslavement and oppression in the party’s thoughts.

Arab noted that there are many forces that are fighting now on the Syrian land, but the sole force that adopted the liberal and democratic thoughts is the Syrian Democratic Forces stating that SDF is a legitimate force since it was founded by the children of the region themselves.”

Arab noted, “Our people today has faith, and derives its strength and morale from martyrs who drew history again, and we could by adopting the philosophy and thought of Ocalan build a free and democratic society where all components co-exist.

At the end of the meeting, a short film about the martyr struggler Shilan Kobani and her comrade founders of the Democratic Union Party were presented.
