3rd Axis of "Economic Issue, its Optimal Shape for Syria's Future" is being discussed

The Syrian-Syrian Dialogue, which was called for by Syria's Democratic Council, continued in a discussion held in Ain Issa in Tal Abyad / Girê Spî. After completing the first and second axes, the audience began discussing the 3rd  axis, which last of the first day.

The 3rd  axis began with delivering  speeches of the member of the Coordinating Committee-Change Movement Ziad Watfa who said "Syria after the First World War is a political entity produced by the colonial powers according to the Sykes-Picot agreement. This is a multi-ethnic country with different religions. Since more than 5 thousands of years, Syria has been one of the countries in the region where the national democratic stage has not been completed."

He stressed the weakness of the liberal economic model adopted by the emerging countries after independence from dealing with the functions of the national democratic stage for objective and subjective reasons, most notably the inability to face of the hegemonic domination and the most important manifestations is Israel.

Ziad Watfa stressed the importance of focusing on the productive sectors, mainly agriculture and industry, restructuring the public sector, cleaning up its institutions, creating mechanisms for control, linking prices with prices, achieving major projects for Badia and the northeast region and focus on full mechanization of agriculture and the closure of any non-national participation in the field of oil and gas.

In turn, the professor of the Faculty of Economics Ahmed Yousef during his speech said,

"The central government in the capital and local governments plays an important role in economy’s total management, but the role of the central government is central to some areas that are central to the centrality of their management, as well as to the role of local governments in some other areas, and let us mention  some of the guidelines that form the basis for the distribution of economic powers between the central and local governments, with the need to point out that there is no generally unified model of the distribution of powers between the central government and local governments, which may be very close to the center, where the central government has a responsibility equal to 85% of public revenue collection, and may be far from the center, such as the Swiss model, in which the central government is only responsible for collecting 35% of public revenues.

In his speech, he pointed to the modernity of the intellectual approach adopted by the Democratic Autonomous Administration in the north and east of Syria, so it faces many difficulties in various economic fields. Therefore, it faces great tasks to address and alleviate these difficulties through building an integrated system that fulfills the interests of its various components.

According to the Preparatory Committee, the works of the first day of the Syrian-Syrian Dialogue are scheduled to end after the completion of the discussion of this third and final axis for the first day.
