The head of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) said the organization was discussing sending inspectors to investigate an alleged poisonous gas attack in Syria.

Associated Press quoted the OPCW Director-General Fernando Arias that officials of the International Agency based in the Hague, in contact with United Nations experts, "to assess the security situation on the ground for a possible deployment of a fact-finding mission to Syria.

The pro-regime SANA agency said the alleged chemical attack late on Saturday by mercenaries based in Aleppo's countryside fired missiles containing toxic gases in three neighborhoods of Syria's largest neighborhoods, and resulted in wounding dozens.

The fact-finding mission of (OPCW) is the task of investigating the alleged chemical attacks in Syria and reporting to the organization and the United Nations.
