Kurds in Lebanon commemorate PKK founding's anniversary

BEIRUT

Tuesday, 27 November marks the 41st anniversary of the founding of the PKK. In conjunction with the anniversary, the Kurds residing in Lebanon held a celebration on Sunday at the hall of al-Suez in al-Jedaida area in Beirut.

The ceremony hall was decorated with pictures of the leader of the Kurdish people Abdullah Ocalan, pictures of the martyrs of the Kurdistan Liberation Movement, and Kurdish symbols.

The celebration began with a minute of silence, followed by speeches delivered by the representative of the Lebanese Democratic Autonomous Administration Diyar Qamishlo, Newroz Cultural and Social Association by Jamal Hasan and another speech in the name of Kongra Star which was delivered by the member Zeinab Mohammed.

The words congratulated all the Kurdish people on the founding of the PKK.

"The day of PKK's founding was a historic day in Kurdistan, and thanks to the party's philosophy, the path of freedom was drawn to the peoples of the Middle East.

The words commemorated the martyrs of the Kurdistan Liberation Movement and said that the Kurdish women have become of a strong system and strong will thanks to the struggle of martyrs such as Sakina Jansez and Beritan.

They stressed that the PKK has been able to achieve important victories for the Kurdish people at all levels.

The festival continued with singing, theater performances and folkloric dance performances by the band of the Martyr Beritan and the Martyr Shano band for theater, the Zaroki Rojava band, the band of the Martyr Ilan and Walati Roje bands of singing, as well as many poems commemorating the martyrs delivered.

The celebration concluded with dancing in rings on the revolutionary songs.
