AL-TABQA

On the margin of the seminar held by the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) Riyad Derar on Sunday at the headquarters of the Democratic Civil Administration in al-Tabqa area, ANHA held an interview with Derar to talk about the political situation in the area and Turkish state's attacks.

How do you evaluate the Turkish threats on north and east areas of Syria?

The Turkish regime attempts to get out of internal issues and internal crises so it attempts to turn its people's attention towards external issues, and that is a form of joint action in response to the threats of Rohani, Lavrov and Walid al-Moallem, so it is a form of joint alliance with them.

It seems that the Russian-Turkish agreement is not going as planned, how do you assess that in light of the clashes renewed between Jabhet al-Nusra and the regime and the rejection of Jabhet al-Nusra to get out of the demilitarized zone agreed upon?

Jabhet al-Nusra and the other fundamentalist factions are considered as terrorist organizations supported by Turkey, and Turkey was given a deadline to resolve this issue through the understanding of Sochi, knowing that they were all co-existed in the same case and with each other which separated them is the Turkish recognition of these factions and designation Jabhet al-Nusra as terrorist organization.

How do you see the spread of American surveillance points and patrols on the border and their importance for the areas of north and east Syria?

We benefit from these US patrols and surveillance towers because they at least give a signal to Turkey not to exceed their borders, and then give another signal that these areas are safe and will remain so because no shot exited from them towards Turkey.

What do you think of the attempt of some parties to implement their agendas in the areas of north and east Syria by spreading rumors and instigating strife among the different sectors of society?

We have more than one party threatening the area. There are allies of Turkey working at home and there are allies of the regime and Russia and IS' gangs that can ignite sedition in one way or another at any moment. The citizens must not respond to such provocative calls and work for spreading safety and building the country because there are some beneficiaries and those financed from abroad may harm the interests of the country.

The people of al-Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor must not be influenced by such people because those have been bought, even if they were patriotic, they would raise national slogans and national demands and not a party's demands at the expense of another party. We in the region are all Syrians, and we work for Syria and raise the slogans of Syria.
