Symposium in America about Turkish threats to North Syria

On the second day of November, a symposium was held at the Institution for Global Policies in America, led by Prof. Paul Quier, a specialist in foreign affairs and researcher at the Institution about the threats which the ethnic and religious' minorities and components in Iraq and Syria face.

The symposium was attended by the representative of the Syrian Democratic Council in America Sinam Mohammed, the head of the Syriac Council and the member of the Political Body of the Syrian Democratic Council Bassam Ishaq, and Louay Mikael from the Keldo Assyrian organization in Iraq.

It was also attended by representatives of the civil society organizations, a number of political figures, media professionals, human rights and the position of religious minorities in the world interested.

Sinam Mohammed spoke at the symposium on November 1, the international day for Kobanî and the continuing Turkish threats to North Syria and the area, referring to the recent Turkish bombardment on the villages of Kobanî and Girê Spî and targeting the 6-year-old girl, demanding the international powers to intervene to prevent Turkey from its brutal practices against the peoples of the area.

The participants also discussed the importance of the pluralistic system in Syria and the threats facing the religious and ethnic minorities and components in Iraq and Syria.
