17 political parties calling on international community, Damascus to shoulder their responsibilities towards Turkish aggression

17 Political parties in northern and eastern Syria called on the international community and the government of Damascus to clarify their position on the Turkish attacks on northern Syria and to assume all their responsibilities in preserving the security of the region and pushing for a solution to the political crisis in Syria, and consider the Turkish attacks violation of international laws and conventions.

Today, 17 parties, organizations and political movements in the north and east of Syria issued a joint statement to the public. The statement was made at the Center for Diplomatic Relations of the Democratic Society Movement in Qamishlo city during a press conference, read by a member of the Democratic Conservatives Adnan Ezzo in which he said:

"At a time when international efforts to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis intensified, Turkish attacks on northern and eastern Syria have escalated, with the increasing number of threats that coincide with the " battle to defeat terrorism" campaign led by SDF against terrorist gangs in the last strongholds of Deir ez-Zor, Turkey aimed at blocking the political solution in Syria and supporting the terrorist factions.

We are the parties in the north and east of Syria. We call upon our people to stand united to confront these attacks and threats by various democratic means and to preserve the gains made.

We also call upon the international community to stand firm against the Turkish attacks and its policies of destabilization, to assume its responsibilities, to maintain the security of the region and to push for a formula for a political solution in Syria. The Turkish attacks violate international laws and conventions and Damascus must assume all its legal responsibilities.
