Independent: People of Idlib declare their hatred of all parties in Syrian war

He adds that three million people in Idlib fear the return of the regime forces, but they are equally hostile to the gangs of mercenaries that rule Idlib because they spread violence and chaos.

Ahmed believes that the recent agreement between Turkey and Russia on a cease-fire to prevent the attack of the regime forces on Idlib is an agreement "not to serve the people of Idlib but to serve the interests of Ankara and Moscow."

The newspaper added that the mood of the people in Idlib is very bad, people are unsatisfied and they no longer care about joining the mercenary gangs in Idlib. At first the young people were quick to fight, but now people do not see the difference between the regime's forces and the mercenary gangs supported by Turkey.

Abu Omar, who wanted to not be named because of fears of Turkish-backed mercenary gangs, talks about the terms of the agreement between Erdogan and Putin, the control of Russia and Turkey in northwestern Syria, the withdrawal of heavy weapons and the withdrawal of about 1,000 mercenaries from the area separating the regime forces and mercenaries of Turkey, as well as the agreement that includes the opening of highways connecting the cities controlled by the regime forces in Aleppo, Hama and Latakia.

Idlib's residents doubt in the motives of local and foreign players in Idlib, but are relieved that a new round of fighting has now been avoided.

Ahmed Bakour, 47 years old, from Idlib said, "In fact, we no longer understand anything but we are happy because there is no fighting and shelling, we do not prefer neither the  armed gangs nor the Syrian regime."

He added "We are tired of the war and the armed gangs that use the name of Islam and taking over us, they are stealing money, kidnapping people and suffocating them because of what they are doing."

According to the newspaper, another person who preferred not to be identified, "The majority of people Idlib do not prefer anyone and even they are against the Turkish occupation of their city, although a very small percentage of up to 10% of those who support Turkey," adding that "Turkey  is here for its own interests. "

The citizen added, "The people in Idlib are very poor, especially in cities and towns where there is little work."

"No one builds houses and there is no construction work. The few who earn good money are doctors, pharmacists, car repairmen and those who work for aid organizations.

The newspaper shows that the regime's forces, as well as the mercenary gangs, provide little money to the workers, which makes them dependent on bribes. This agreement may harm the interests of these militants, who are the most beneficiaries of the siege on the city of Idlib and the rest of the Syrian cities, and certainly if there is a political solution in Syria their interests and trade will collapse.

The newspaper says the cease-fire agreement in Idlib continues, although the regime's forces are talking about the ceasefire as a temporary measure. "This Turkish-Russian deal will not make Assad win but the opposition has certainly lost it."
