SDF disclosed a month’s outcome of battle to defeat terrorism

The statement published by the media center of SDF on its official website included,

Within the battle to defeat terrorism, thee last stage of al-Jazeera Tempest campaign to exterminate what have been remained of IS mercenaries in the eastern areas of the Euphrates that are adjacent to the Iraqi border, SDF fighters have been fighting fierce battles against the terrorists since September 10 with the support of the International Coalition to liberate the remained areas in Hejin, al-Soseh, al-Sha’fa and their surroundings in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

In this context, our forces managed to achieve great victories and liberate vast spaces in addition to killing hundreds of IS mercenaries, destroying and seizing large quantities of weapons and ammunition. The forces also foiled a number suicide attacks that were launched by the terrorists.

The outcome of the clashes erupted between SDF fighters and IS mercenaries during a month of the battles to defeat terrorism is as below:

Our fighters were engaged in direct clashes against IS mercenaries 58 times, and the International Coalition carried out 215 aerial raids and 17 artillery shelling strikes. Our forces proved the killing of 651 terrorists, 17 bodies of them were kept at the hands of our fighters and they were buried, while dozens of bodies are still thrown among the orchards and in the areas where clashes erupted in as our forces could not take away them due to the intensity of mines, and 6 terrorists were captured by the forces. Moreover, our forces set up 370 new points and managed to liberate a space of 40 km in addition to the villages of Baguz, al-Shajla and Mowazen.

Our forces also managed to destroy a big number of IS’ weapons and machineries in addition to destroying a large quantity of ammunition, a number of ammunition’s repositories and depots, the headquarters of the command and points of IS’ gathering which are,

During the combat operations, IS terrorists tried to obstruct our forces’ progress by using the booby-trapped and suicides on one hand and mining the areas from which they exited on the other hand. The terrorists carried out (37) attacks against our sites and the fighters’ gatherings among them (22) attacks with booby-trapped vehicles and (6) with booby-trapped motorbikes in addition to (7) suicide attacks. Moreover, our fighters dismantled, de-activated and blasted (246) various mines planted by IS mercenaries to obstacle our forces.

Our forces also managed to liberate hundreds of civilians among them children and women and they took them to the camp that was established to receive them and provide services and immediate assistances to them. Special Forces that are related to our forces liberated two Yazidi kidnapped from Şengal within a qualitative operation. The two abductees are Inas Resho who is 12 years old from Khana Sor town and the Mrs. Melko Kheder Koti who is at 40 from Kojo village.

Furthermore, (37) fighters martyred during the heroic battles that they were engaged in and a number of wounded were left.
