The people of Serê Kanîyê bid farewell the corpses of the martyrs Mejd Rashid and Mehedi Mehemid, the fighters in the ranks of the Self-Defense Duty to their last resting place in the Martyrs Shrine in Serê Kanîyê.

Hundreds of Serê Kanîyê and its villages’ people met in front of Roj Hospital in Serê Kanîyê city to receive the corpses of the fighters in the Self-Defense Duty Mejd Rashid and Mehedi Mehemid who were martyred on October 7, 2018 in Serê Kanîyê city by a mine explosion. After receiving the corpses of the martyrs, the mourners marched towards the Martyrs' Shrine in the city.

The ceremony began with holding a minute of silence that was followed by delivering a speech by the co-chair of Martyrs’ Families Body of al-Jazeera canton Edan Ahmed who said, "We have been bedding farewell the martyrs since 7 years. The martyrs are the light of our eyes and because they enlightened for us the path of freedom, we must preserve the values ​​of the martyrs and continue their path."

After that, the commander in YPG Baran Amuda delivered a speech and promised to follow the footsteps of the martyrs to achieve a decent life and realize the dreams that they sacrificed their life for.

After the speeches were finished, the two martyrs’ documents were read and handed over to their families amid chanting the slogans that immortalize the martyrs.
