MMC's General Command issued a written statement regarding the recent Turkish threats on Manbij, and the Turkish occupation’s pretexts of the establishment of fortifications and barriers in the city by the MMC.

The statement said,

"Recently, statements have been made by Turkish officials attacking the MMC because it is digging trenches and establishing earth mounts in the city within a systematic media campaign that aims at misleading the public opinion and instigating unrest.”

The statement added, "Manbij lives in conditions of security and stability despite all attempts of the hostile forces to spread the security chaos, internal fighting, kidnapping, thieving and weapons chaos as the case in other cities that are under the control of the Turkish occupation.

The statement noted, "We have taken all security and military measures to protect the city from the attacks of the terrorist organizations so that we can be a source of confidence for the people today that they are relatively safe from the terrorist operations for thousands of people to return to their villages and towns."

The council noted in its statement that the MMC and the Civil Administration take all necessary security measures and procedures in addition to maintaining all the entrances and roads of the city. It added, “We have the right to work for protecting the stability and safety of our city.”

The statement pointed out that the Turkish occupation constructed a separating wall along the border to prevent the fled from the battle from entering Turkey and to trade them. It added, "The occupation encircles the people by the wall so it is not entitled to talk about a safe city in any other country."
