Kurdish Yazidi Nadia Murad awarded  Nobel Peace Prize of 2018

Yazidi activist Nadia Murad and Congolese doctor Denise Mukwiji won the Nobel Peace Prize of 218. The Nobel Committee said on Friday that Nadia Murad's victory was aimed at calling for the non-use of rape as a weapon of war and for protecting women during periods of conflict.

The prize is worth 9 million Swedish crowns ($ 1 million) and will be awarded at a ceremony in Oslo on December 10.

The 25-year-old Nadia Murad was one of hundreds of Yazidi women who passed through the massacre committed by IS mercenaries for the Yazidi people in Şengal on August 3, 2014.

Nadia Murad lost 6 siblings and her mother in the massacre and was kidnapped by IS mercenaries. from her village "Kuju "and was taken to Mosul city the mercenary stronghold. She was raped and tortured and raped before being sold repeatedly to sexual slavery.

When Nadia Murad decided to escape, she was able, with the help of a Muslim family from Mosul, to obtain an identity that allowed her to move to the southern Kurdistan region.

After fleeing, Nadia lived in a refugee camp in southern Kurdistan where she contacted an organization that helped Yazidi allow her to join her sister in Germany.

After arriving in Germany, Nadia Murad decided to defend the Yazidi, calling repeatedly to classify the persecution of the Yazidi as "genocide" and was named an international ambassador to the dignity of victims trafficking.

Mukwiji is a gynecologist who treats victims of sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The Nobel Prize is a collection of six annual international awards awarded by several categories by Swedish and Norwegian institutions in recognition of academics, intellectuals or scientific progress. The spiritual father of the Nobel Prize is Swedish industrialist and inventor of dynamite, Alfred Nobel. The Nobel Prize was approved by the Swedish Nobel in his will, which he documented on  November 27, 1895.
