Health Committee records over 700 cases of handicap in al-Raqqa

Many of the people of the city of al-Raqqa are unemployed, because of permanent disability left by IS mercenaries, as a result of amputations of limbs (hand and foot) and other mental disabilities, in which the children have had the largest share of it, where many children suffer of difficulty in speech and sever fear, as a result of watching the retaliatory operations carried out by IS mercenaries and enforcing the people to see them.

According to the Health Committee of the Civil Council, the rate of disability (amputation of legs and hands) reached 700 people, not to mention the cases of mental disability

The most common disability recorded in the Health Committee is "amputation of feet", most of them are caused by mines planted by IS mercenaries, and they are sensitive and thermal mines.

And according to the hand amputation, IS mercenaries were used to during the years that they took control of the city of al-Raqqa, where mercenaries were cutting hands of civilians on trivial charges, and the amputations were carried out by the mercenaries by the sword or what is known locally as a swivel.

Psychological disability is the most dangerous where the mercenaries carried out executions in the field, and they were forcing the people to see them, which led to psychological pressure on the people, especially children, and many children registered with the Health Committee can not speak.

The administrator in the office of people with special needs Munera al-Hasan said "We are working to the extent possible to help the disabled as a result of the mercenaries' practices against civilians. We have not yet provided any assistance to the disabled and we are working to document these cases."
