Abu Rashid... story of struggling family

The resistance of Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood was due to the steadfastness and resistance of its children in the trenches of the fighting and the defense of the neighborhood, which is a small geographical area for the rest of the areas of Aleppo, each part and corner of it is a witness to what its residents offered.

When we highlight the story of Abu Rashid, the father, brother and the fighter, we derive from them the true meaning of patriotism and the defense of dignity, and the meaning of brotherhood and true fatherhood, Abu Rashid lost the most expensive possessions and did not give up and remained in the trenches of fighting until now.

Abu Rashid was the first to answer the call

The fighter Ahmed Rashou, 47 years old, married with 6 children (3 boys and 3 girls). At the start of the Syrian crisis in 2011, Abu Rashid was unable to remain idle. Abu Rashid met the appeal of the homeland and stood on the first checkpoints established in the neighborhood in defense of the people and to provide security and stability to prevent the entry of mercenary gangs into the neighborhood.

Abu Rashid told Hawar agency  and said, "I  participated in the protection of my life and my people and I did not want to be just a consumer in the community. I wanted to have my own mark, and for the neighborhood that protected me as a young man, my family and I grew up and lived in peace."

The fighting trenches are witness to the resistance of Abu Rashid family

Abu Rashid was not the only member of the family who was present in the battle trenches, but five of his family members put their own print in the corners of each trench of the fighting trenches (3 of his sons and 2 of his younger brothers) participated in all battles broke out in the neighborhood "The battle for the liberation of Ashrafia, the liberation of Seken al-Shebabi and al-Mukhaberat, the liberation of the eastern neighborhoods."

Abu Rashid said ,"I used my strength when I was in the fighting trenches of my children and my brothers in order to protect the neighborhood and the people, we remained steadfast on the fronts until we liberated all the areas that we managed to liberate.

Rashid and a number of his companions on the path of martyrdom

On April 7, 2016, clashes intensified between the fighters of the Protection Units and the mercenaries of the coalition in al-Mukhaberat front located between Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafia neighborhoods. Abu Rashid and his eldest son Rashid were stationed at one of al-Mukhaberat  points in front lines to prevent the mercenaries from entering the neighborhood. While Rashid was defending with all his will and strength, he and a number of his comrades reached the rank of martyrdom and the others were wounded.

In this context, Abu Rashid added, "losing my son Rashid means losing the most precious possession. However, I have not weakened, I have not surrendered but I have increased my strength and determination, and I have derived my determination from the martyrdom of my eldest son. I am proud of his martyrdom."

We will not leave our positions and will not get out of our fronts

Abu Rashid concluded, "We will not leave our positions and we will not get out of the frontiers so that we can liberate every inch of the Syrian territory and I am ready to sacrifice for the sake of the freedom and stability of our people, we will not leave our homeland and land and we will win by determination of our heroes and ours as well as the blood of our martyrs and we pledge them, we will win every area of Syrian territory and we will abort all conspiracies and schemes that are woven against us."
