Biography of fighter Mahmoud Mohammed ... youth's revolutionary spirit

His biography is full of heroic positions and he has a strong will to put everything aside if the cause of the homeland and the land needs to work.

We are talking about Mahmud Muhammad (Shahin), who was born in al-Derbasyia district of al-Jazeera region, the eldest child of the family.

Mahmoud studied until the middle stage, and distinguished himself with studying and working together at a young age. After returning from school, he went to work with a candy maker to work and learn at the same time.

He was known of his strong attachment to the cause of his homeland Kurdistan, and the Kurdistan Liberation Movement and its leader Abdullah Ocalan, wherever he goes he talked about it until the fighting began in their ranks with the start of the Syrian crisis in 2011.

In the preparatory stage, Mahmoud gave up studying, remained in the candy industry, worked in his free time alongside the youth and secretly organized events while the Syrian regime was still in existence.

He organized his life between work, study and organization

Fatima, the mother of the martyr, Mahmoud Mohammed, recalls that her son was organizing his own life despite his young age. "He started working while he was still studying, and between study and work he organized his time to work for the revolutionary youth."

She added "Despite the control of the Baathist regime on the region at that time, but he did not afraid a day. He was of the young people who relied on themselves without relying on the family for living expenses, but rather helped us."

His father, Nouri Mohammed, said that "Mahmoud was an obliging young man in the house and the neighborhood. His family saw nothing wrong with him."

Joining to the revolution

Mahmoud was one of the youth groups who organized themselves to launch Rojava revolution and liberate its regions from the Syrian regime.

His aunt Shamsa Muhammad recalls "One day I passed by the public street in al-Derbasyia next to the bakery, and when I reached the top of the street, I saw Shahin and his comrades carrying arms. I ran to him and told him what this weapon, Shahin, he was saying to me:" My aunt, you will see when we begin to liberate our regions from the regime"

During his training, Mahmoud underwent a number of training courses in order to learn about many facts. He came out with a movement name (Shahin) in which he was known among his comrades.

Basher, a companion of Shahin's path, recalls that he knew him, who is still in the youth, and that he visited their center sometimes, until he decided to join the protection forces and participated in protecting the border.

His enthusiasm drove him to participate in the battles

Mahmoud continued to protect the border between Rojava and Bakur-Kurdistan until a certain period of time, Bashir, his comrades said that on one occasion, Shahin left the guard post and went to Serê Kaniy where the fighting took place between the People's Protection Units and the mercenaries of al-Nasra in front of al-Manajeir.

"He went without the knowledge of the leadership, so he realized later that he had made a mistake because he left the point without the knowledge of the leadership, so he presented his self-criticism with a letter he had sent to the leadership later, and explained that he did so because the leadership did not allow him to go to the front."

He harness all his efforts in serving the cause

His comrade says that he saw Shahin for the first time when he came to the Martyr's battalion Kamal in the village of Bar Kanisa in Serê Kaniyê. When he first discussed with him, Shahin said to him: "he was ready for any service for the homeland, the leader is still in captivity, but we have to join in this revolution to release him and build a free democratic Kurdistan. "

After a long period of absence, Mahmoud (Shahin) returned to visit his family, where he sat with his family and talked about matters of revolutionary work and asked him if he had difficulties in his revolutionary work. Shahin answered that joining the revolution was the first step of success in his life, and he encouraged his family to serve the revolution more than the past to reach their desired goals.

Shahin participated in several combat battles, he was present in the campaign of the village of Alouq and Rawia in Serê Kaniyê, was the avant-garde in the fighting and confronting mercenaries of al-Nasra attacks.

In the fighting, he always said, "We are ready to martyrdom and sacrifice for you, "Kurdistan", we will win," he always says, smiling, as if he sees his efforts will come to fruition soon.

His father was working to rescue the injured from the points of fighting, where the battles were the most intense in 2014 in Serê Kaniyê and on a daily basis the clashes broke out at different points.

The last battle

The battles intensified in mid-2014 in the villages of Serê Kaniyê between the People's and Women's Protection Units and the mercenaries of Jabhit al-Nasra. The situation was difficult, the ambulances were not stopping, and the news of the starting of major battles was spreading everywhere.

A number of unit fighters were martyred in the battles, but the corpses of some of them remained in the battlefields and were taken over by the mercenaries. Shahin was among those who were martyred and his body remained in the hands of the mercenaries on May 28, 2014.

The martyrs' families' institution did not announce the martyrdom of Shahin, but his family had known about it, until they found his body years later in the village of Rawiya, which was later liberated. The mercenaries buried his body in a mass grave.
