SDF disclosed a day’s outcome of battle to defeat terrorism

The media center of SDF released a statement disclosing the outcome of the battles erupted on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 between their forces and IS mercenaries in the axes of the battle to defeat terrorism in Deir ez-Zor eastern countryside.

The statement included,

Baguz axis: Our forces advanced in this axis and managed to install a number other points. Our forces were engaged in clashes against the terrorists in the result of their attack on one of our forces’ points, and our forces repelled the attack and turned them back. Moreover, a number of killed were left in the mercenaries’ ranks.

IS terrorists intended to bombard our forces’ points with mortars while they were combing the area that was liberated by our forces as our forces found a quantity of weapons and military equipment.

In the result of the clashes and battles that our fighters were engaged in in the evening hours, they managed to advance 800 m and set up a number of the points. All the attempts of the terrorists to attack those points failed and resulted in killing many terrorists, targeting two booby-trapped vehicles and destroying the trenches that used to be used by the mercenaries.

Our fighters also managed to progress other 600 m and install another number of the points. In addition, they seized a number of weapons and munitions.

In the first hours of morning and in the result of the fierce battles that our fighters were engaged in against IS terrorists, our forces were able to liberate al-Shajla village after killing many terrorists and seizing quantities of weapons and ammunition.

Soon, our forces started to comb the village, and the engineering teams of our forces began to dismantle the mines planted by the terrorists.

Hejin axis: Intermittent clashes and mutual bombardment with heavy weapons in the result of the terrorists’ attempts to launch sudden attacks, but our forces repelled them. Fierce clashes erupted on Tuesday morning that lasted for several hours and resulted in killing a number of the mercenaries. Furthermore, the aircrafts of the Coalition carried out several aerial raids targeting the terrorists’ sites in several points in this axis.

The clashes and battles’ outcome on all the axes:

The aerial raids: 7 raids.

The points that were installed: 19 points.

The number of the terrorists’ killed: 21 terrorists.

The terrorists’ losses: A trench, a mortar base and 2 booby trapped vehicles were destroyed.

The weapons seized by our forces: 2 mortar bases of 120 mm caliber, 65 mortars of 120 mm caliber, 2 RBG launchers, 4 Kalashnikovs, 2 PKCs with a bag of ammunition and 4 RBG shells.

The number of the martyrs of our fighters: 6 martyrs.

The number of our fighters’ wounded: 8 wounded.
