AFRIN

As winter which will increase the suffering of Afrin residents living in the camps of al-Shahba approaches, the Social Affairs and Labor Body issued a statement saying,

"After the people of Afrin got out of their homes on 16/3/2018 forcibly as a result of the attacks launched by the Turkish occupation and the armed mercenaries on the canton which led to a massive displacement of the people towards al-Shahba canton which lacked the most basic elements of life and lacks the health and medical centers as well as the collapse of infrastructure and the spread of mines planted by the terrorist gangs.

The Democratic Autonomous Administration has done its duty towards its people and provided them with medical, service and relief assistance and basic needs within the available potentials because of the weak cooperation of the international and relief organizations despite the repeated appeals of the Social Affairs Body to support the refugees in all fields of service, medical, relief and security by sending international experts to dismantle the mines that have killed dozens of displaced people, but unfortunately, all these appeals were in vain, and there has been no response from these organizations regarding the demands of the refugees as the aid was scarce compared to the massive numbers of the displaced people, especially after the displacement of the people of Afrin from Nubl and Zahra towns in addition to the people of Idlib who have displaced in the recent period to Tel Rifat, as well as those who fled the injustice and oppression of the Turkish state and its mercenaries in Afrin which has formed a heavy burden on the shoulders of the Democratic Autonomous Administration.

We, as the Social Affairs and Labor body in Afrin canton, repeat our appeal to all the humanitarian and human rights organizations, especially the United Nations organizations that are directly concerned with the refugees to take responsibility for our displaced people and to provide all kinds of support to them to avoid occurring a humanitarian disaster.
