Economic Committee begins in supporting winter agricultural season

The general study came within the framework of the annual plan set by the Economic Committee, the most prominent of which was to provide support to the farmers from seeds, fertilizers, fuel and others according to the licenses granted to them earlier.

In this regard, based on previous statistics by the Agriculture Directorate for the irrigated and cultivated lands, the Economic Committee has set a table for each article submitted to the farmers indicating the quantity of the submitted material according to the area of ​​land and the type of agriculture as follows:

Diesel fuel

For the support of farmers with the fuel oil, the Agricultural Directorate of rainfed land, estimated to be 70,000 hectares, determined the amount of diesel in the amount of one million and 400 000 liters, an average of 20 liters per hectare.

The irrigated land for plowing was estimated at 8,000 hectares. Subsidies per hectare were allocated to 40 liters and the quantity calculated was 320 thousand liters of oil.

Seeds

In support to the farmers with seeds, especially soft wheat seeds, about 48 thousand acres of soft wheat were planted, and a quantity of 1 million and 680 thousand kg of seed were allocated, equivalent to 35 kg per acres.

Fertilizers

For fertilizers, the Agriculture Directorate provided two types of fertilizers (Urea - Super Phosphate) and the farmers will be supported depending on the type of crop as follows:

Irrigated wheat, the cultivation area was 48 thousand acres, each acres is supported with 30 kg of urea fertilizer 46% and 25 kg of super phosphate fertilizer.

As for irrigated barley and other crops, it was estimated at 32,000 acres and each acres is supported by 15 kg of urea fertilizer 46% and 10 kg of super phosphate fertilizer.

According to the co-chair of the agriculture Directorate in al-Tabqa Khaled al-Askar, the purpose of granting licenses to the farmer is to encourage him to support his land with the best types of seeds and fertilizers to ensure abundant season and marketing at competitive prices.

It is noteworthy that the Agriculture Directorate of Economic Committee of al-Tabqa city began to distribute the above-mentioned support to the farmers since 2 September, through the directorates and agriculture's committees of each farmer according to the license granted to him.
