Human Rights Watch welcomed SDF's statement to prohibit children’s recruiting

Human Rights Watch welcomed the decision issued on  September 7  by the Commander-in-Chief of SDF, "Mazloum Abdi," to prevent the recruitment of children, considering it an important step in protecting children in Syria.

Human Rights Watch said in a report published on its website that the move by the commander-in-chief of SDF is an important step to end the use of child soldiers, referring to the content of the main decision to "ban the recruitment of anyone under the age of 18."

The report confirmed ,"The military order calls on the commanders of the Syrian Democratic Forces to hand over any member under 18 years to the educational authorities in northeastern Syria and to end the payment of salaries."

The report of the Human Rights Watch concluded, "If the new military order by SDF is implemented, it will be a welcomed step to protect the children of Syria."
