Al-Hasaka bid farewell martyr Baqi Jaro

In solemn ceremonies, al-Hasaka people bid farewell the corpse of the martyr Abdel Hamid Omer whose nom de guerre is Baqi Jaro, the fighter in the ranks of the People Protection Units (YPG) who martyred by a heart attack to his last resting place in the Martyr Dejwar Shrine in al-Dawoodiya village.

The funeral procession was launched in front of the Martyrs' Families Council with the participation of dozens of cars decorated with the pictures of the Martyr. In the Martyr Dejwar in al-Dawoodiya village, hundreds of al-Hasaka and its countryside residents gathered to participate in the funeral.

The ceremony began with holding a minute of silence with a military parade performed by YPG and YPJ fighters. Then, the member of the Martyrs’ Families Council Sultana Aziz delivered a speech, expressed condolences to the martyr’s family and said, “We are pride of the martyrdom and the martyrs and thanks to their sacrifices, the homelands and peoples are liberated.”

Then, the commander in the ranks of YPG delivered a speech and said, “Our soil, people and homeland deserve to sacrifice our souls for, and thanks to the pure blood of our martyrs, we enjoy the security and stability in our areas today and we live on the principles of co-existence and fraternity of peoples, and our martyrs are our history, present and future.”

The co-chair of al-Hasaka canton Abdel Ghani Oso said, “The martyrs sacrifice their souls for us to live freely and with dignity so we pledge our martyrs to follow their footsteps and preserve the gains made by their blood.”

After that, the martyrdom’s document was read by the member of the Martyrs’ Families Council Rojda Ahmed, and it was handed over to the martyr’s family.

Then, the martyr’s comrades held his corpse on the shoulders to be buried in the Martyr Dejwar Cemetery amid the mothers’ trills and the slogans that glorify the martyrdom and the martyrs.
