Thousands demanded Ocalan's freedom on World Peace Day

On the occasion of the World Peace Day which marks the first of September, thousands of civilians who came from different cities and regions; Tal Tamer, ad-Dirbasiya and Serê Kaniyê, and gathered in the center of al-Hasakah city to protest against the isolation imposed on Ocalan and to expel the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries from Afrin.

During the demonstration, the demonstrators held pictures of Ocalan and banners with slogans calling for his freedom, along with other slogans emanating from his ideology, and others calling for peace.

The demonstrators started from Marsho Roundabout in al-Kellasa neighborhood and walked through the street chanting the slogans that call for the freedom of Ocalan, demand his release and stop the cultural and ethnic massacres against the Kurdish people in Afrin.

During the march a statement was read and highlighted the isolation imposed on Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan saying, "Ocalan, the source of peace in the world, has been suffering for seven years from isolation.”

The statement also explained that the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries continue targeting the sanctities of the Kurdish people, looting and destroying the antiquities amid an international silence.

The statement called on the humanitarian organizations to act and carry out their moral and humanitarian duties towards the peoples of the region.
