BASIL RASHID- SALAH IBO / AFRIN

Afrin city, which the Syrians have known as a symbol of peace and love, and a beautiful haven that comforts the heart and looks, is now a dark spot of fear, murder, looting and where the flags of darkness and occupation have been fluttering since four months ago that have come claiming its liberation, but the falsity of the allegations and rumors is now visible, it is throughout this period, some human rights organizations came out with reports of widespread violations of human rights in Afrin, which was attacked by Turkish Islamist factions on 20 January 2018, the Turkish aggression had committed many massacres during 58 days of the Resistance of the Age in its first stage, and after the occupation of the city, the mercenaries of the Turkish army began arresting, killing, looting of private and public property and the division of villages and city districts among its mercenaries factions.

Crimes hidden under the symbol of peace

Since the beginning of the Turkish aggression under the name of operation of "Olive Branch" on Afrin and carried out by the Turkish state with the participation of a group of factions calling themselves factions "Free Syrian Army" after an agreement between the Turkish and Russian governments, which led to the break-in to Afrin in exchange for handing over the eastern Gouta to the Syrian regime in the 20th of January.

The Olive Branch operation, which symbolized peace and giving in all human cultures, was turned by the Turkish army into a sign of murder and looting, during the first month of the Turkish attacks and its mercenaries on Afrin, 232 civilians, including 35 children and 29 women, were martyred by the Turkish army as a sign of killing and looting, another 668 civilians, including 90 children and 100 women, were injured, in the second month, more than 300 martyred and more than 1,200 persons injured, as for the victims martyred during and after the entry of the occupation army and the mercenaries into Afrin is not yet known accurately, according to a number of medical specialists that the number of civilian martyrs exceeded 550 civilians, including 47 children and 51 women and injured more than a thousand and 500 others in 58 days of the Turkish attack, which used all types of weapons, including chemical, due to the inability to accurately document the last days in which the city was bombed indiscriminately and caused several massacres not mentioned in the media.

The child Yahia Ahmed Hamadeh did not know that playing with the children of his neighbors on afternoon would be make him the first of civilian martyrs, during an attack of the Turkish occupation on Afrin, but with the continuation of the aggression, more than 35 children under the age of seventeen had lost their lives, and the baby Diana al- Saleh who died in the lap of her father one of them, the first massacres of the Turkish occupation in Jelber village, one day after the Turkish attack began, killing 11 people who were displaced in the canton, followed by several massacres in the area of Mabata, Janders, Şêrawa and areas of Afrin in general were under indiscriminate bombardment.

The Turkish attack was met with fierce resistance from the fighters of the People's Protection Units (YPG), who were surrounded by the people around it from all directions until Afrin became the heart of all those who wanted free life and facing the Turkish fascist, the fighters of the YPG during the first month inflicted heavy losses to the Turkish army and its mercenaries, three helicopters were downed, dozens of armored vehicles were destroyed and more than 4,000 mercenaries, including Turkish soldiers, were killed.

They threatened the people of Afrin of killing ... before the invasion

Turkish violations and its mercenaries began to appear through the statements that were made by their mercenaries, namely the videos that spread after the occupation of the mercenaries to Qastal Jindo village with the Yazidi majority, and threatening the Kurds to be killed or convert to Islam, in addition to the spread of several sections of radical gangs of IS mercenaries and al-Nusra, the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation began the abuse of prisoners and mutilation of the bodies of fighters, including the body of the martyr Barin Kobani, the violations of the Turkish state did not stop at this point, but rather boasted of the theft of chickens and the possessions of simple rural Afrin families and considered them as gains of war.

Crimes up to the level of racial discrimination

And after the occupation of the Turkish army and its mercenaries to Afrin and its villages, the situation has changed and the violations of human rights and theft and looting and the seizure of private property and means of transport, especially modern, became the talk of the street and media, and loss of security and demographic change became a source of fear for the  indigenous Afrinis, several institutions and media violations had monitored the violations which raise to the level of human crimes, as the lawyer Muhammad Jamil said, the former Co-chair of Human Rights Organization, "Human rights have lost their spiritual and human value, thus losing their emotional value as a result of injustice and violation of their rights, the arrests, looting and robbery at the sight of the world is a form of racial discrimination intended, and the Turkish occupation state did not comply with the minimum standards of human rights and international norms, which provides for respect for a state occupying the territory of another state and public freedoms and human rights and their own property, "The violations that occur in Afrin: the looting, murder and kidnapping in order to demand ransom are flagrant violations of human rights, in addition to war crimes committed during the military attack, and the Turkish state bears full legal responsibility for these violations because they represent the occupying power and the reality there today."

Under the house arrest voluntarily !!

"We do not see the light, I sit alone in the house with my young daughters and I'm afraid to go out," says one of the Yazidis "RH" who live in Afrin but cannot see what the city's conditions are like today, if we do not have a simple hope to liberate Afrin, we will have to leave the city, which is today different ... There is no life in it, no smile and fear fills its sides and the sounds of bullets are heard daily. Still, it remains in the hope of near liberation.

She is not the only woman who does not leave her house, as if the rule of house arrest has been imposed on her, even the majority of the original residents of Afrin are avoiding the frequent exodus and remain in their homes for fear of arrest or murder, but there are other forms of racial discrimination in Afrin, who is able to leave the city and go to al-Shahba. "There is a great racial distinction in Afrin. "H N" said that the Kurds have no right to demand anything, so much so that it must accept anything or be beaten and arrested because the charge is ready and without preamble, he added, preferred not to be named explicitly, because his relatives are still in Afrin, that he never goes out alone, but accompanied by his young son, not to draw attention to him, and he eschews the sites of military headquarters of the mercenaries and the Turkish army.

The occupation policy ... "Murder and consolation at the same time"

This is a picture of the psychological pressure suffered by the people of Afrin, but this is a small part of the daily violations that the Afrini are subjected to, the policy of the Turkish occupation requires total domination of the city and the demographic change in it, specifically targeting the original identity and culture there. (i.e, the Turkish side) as a savior and keen on rights and freedoms, and perhaps the incident "AA" from the villages of Şêrawa experienced is a good example of this, the mercenaries of al-Hamzat gangs attempted to arrest him several times during June, but he was hidden, and after a while, one of his villagers persuaded him to hand himself over to the Turks on the pretext that they were less cruel, but the Turkish officer, advised him to return to his home and hide from the mercenaries of this Turkish officer!

The thefts are rising up and kidnappers have crossed over 1,500 people

Today, under occupation, Afrin is experiencing an unprecedented security crisis, not because of the weakness of the security and intelligence services of the mercenaries and the Turkish army, but because the area is divided between factions and mercenary gangs working to share quotas and raise funds, and therefore the Turkish army is the one who supervises thefts and looting, the looting and robbery documented in more than one area in Afrin canton was not limited to valuables, but rather to chickens, sheep and goats, and to cars and agricultural vehicles. Several videos showed these cases, and the number of vehicles stolen from Afrin during the period from 20/3 until 1/8/2018, which the owners said about 300 agricultural tractors and about 218 cars, in addition to thousands of motorcycles and generators, and other factory, oil mill, household furniture and shops, and most of these stolen stuff were bought in the markets of the cities Azaz and Idlib, and the international human rights organizations and media have documented the extent of the looting and pillaging of property in Afrin.

The erasure of the people's brotherhood and the abuse of Yezidis

Afrin, which was known for its ethnic and religious diversity, is now a city where Yazidis, Christians and Kurds are dominated by tyranny and even transgressions that even reach Arab tribes that do not accept insulting their dignity.

The story of the uncle "Omar Mamo Shamo" in the seventh decade of his life from the village of Qibar, who was killed in cold blood for not accepting the pronunciation of the testimonies, perhaps it tells a lot aboute the state of terror, fear and violations suffered by the Yazidi component in Afrin, and today the mercenaries began to impose lessons of Islamic law on the people of Afrin canton and enforced the people to attend it in Basofan village, in Şêrawa district, mercenaries have arrested two families as a whole as a result of their refusal to send their children to these classes.

Where did the Yazidi religion come from?

The Yezidi religion is considered one of the oldest Eastern religions, its followers believe that they were first worshipers of God and that their religions originated in Mesopotamia, while this religion has been subjected to several campaigns throughout history to annihilate, especially in Şengal" Mount Sinjar".

According toYazidis, the Ottomans were the perpetrators of 72 genocide campaigns. Thousands of them were killed after the fatwa of the Ottoman Muhammad Abu Saud al-Ammari, one of the greatest sultans of the Ottoman Empire.

During the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, less than 100 Yezidi villages remained in Afrin in where thousands of Yazidis distributed in Mount Lilon had lived in it, in the 1930s the number of Yezidi villages in Afrin reached 58 villages with 75 thousand Yezidi, but today only 22 villages lived with less than 25 thousand Yazidi as a result of systematic migration.

The villages where the Yazidis live are (Basofan, Fakira, Ali Qena, Qastal Jendo, Qibar, Ghazawiya, Burj Abdolo, Qatma, Ain Dara, Trenda, Sinka, Kafr Zeita, Iska, Shadir, Kimar, Jakla, eastern Ishka, Baya, Qajoma, Qela and Janders district.)

The village of Qustal Jando, whose inhabitants were displaced, looted, and property and the entire cherry season were seized, five civilians from the village were abducted and lost their lives as they attempted to flee towards Aleppo, fleeing mercenaries and occupation, the number of abducted Yazidis of the villages of "Qibar, Qastal Jendo, Paflor, Qatma, Faqira, Basofan, and other villages inhabited by the Yazadi component, "50 abductees, including women and elderly men, in addition to the killing of some number has not been confirmed yet, according to the stakeholders in the Union of Yezidis Afrin.

As for the violations against Yazidiz, Kolei Jafar, coordinator of the Yazidi Women's Union, said that the attacks of the Turkish occupation on Afrin canton are intended to emphasize the existence of the Kurdish people in general and all the components of the Yazidi presence. "So we were targeted directly, on the second day of the Turkish aggression on Afrin, Tal Indar was targeted and it represent an archeological place and the first temple of the goddess of Ishtar, and this is a message that they want to obliterate the identity of the Kurdish people, especially the Yezidi civilization, this act is an extension of the practices of the Ottomans and their exclusion from the civilization of Mesopotamia.

In addition to the destruction of shrine sites and holy places of the Yezidi religion, the shrine of the Sheikh Gharib in the village of Sinka in the Şera district, the shrine of Qara Jarneh near Maydanki, the destruction of the Yezidi shrines in the village of Qustal Jando, the destruction of the shrine of the Yazidi Cultural and Social Union and the destruction of the statue of the Prophet Zaradasht, Lalash dome, the King Adi shrine in the village of Qibar, the destruction of the shrine of Sheikh Juneid and Abdul Rahman in the village of Faqira, the emptying of the shrine of Sheikh Ali in the village of Basofan and the tampering of  its contents in an outrageous ridicule to the Yazidi by the obscurantist gangs, as well as the seizure of the largest shrine of Yazidis in Syria on the top of Mount Sheikh Barakat overlooking the town of Darret Azza, which was turned into a monitoring center removing the Yezidi landmarks and giving it an Islamic character.

One of the signs that prove the Yezidis are those who settled in the early history in the villages mentioned is a temple in the village of Kimar, which dates back to 1600 BC, where a ball is carved in the center and on both sides a shape of two peacocks, the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries are currently forcing the Yezidis to convert to Islam as ISIS had done in Şengal.
