Al-Hasakah witnessed constructional prosperity since defeating ISIS

The constructional movement began to develop, especially after the constructional decline in the city during the last years, due to the security tensions in the area on the one hand and the rise in the prices of building materials on the other hand, but the constructional movement has rebounded significantly at the moment.

The residents attributed this prosperity to its recent expansion to the improvement of the living conditions and the security and stability in the city, especially after its liberation by the Syrian Democratic Forces from ISIS.

The Syrian Democratic Forces launched "Al-Jazeera Tempest" campaign in May this year to liberate the last pocket of ISIS in north-eastern Syria, supported by the International Coalition and in coordination with Iraqi forces.

Hundreds of licenses granted, jobs for thousands

In the last year, the municipality granted hundreds of building permits to contractors and residents, while providing jobs for thousands of workers.

According to the worker Ali Mohamed, the constructional movement in the last year within al-Hasakah has flourished a lot compared to the past years, pointing out that the wages of good labor is also the reason to provide thousands of opportunities for labor.

Stability and low construction prices revived the constructional movement

"Despite the relatively high prices of building materials, this did not affect the movement of construction. On the contrary, it increased demand due to the low prices of apartments, for example, the apartment which was sold at a price of 12 million is currently estimated at 10 million, thanks to the stability of the area.

Housing prices vary from one area to another and range from 5 to 20 million SP, which many may see as a suitable price in line with current conditions.

Parents criticize randomness

This construction renaissance in al-Hasakah, bordering on the violation of some contractors to the laws of housing and construction at randon, and this was criticized by many of the people.

We offer various kinds of facilities

The engineer and co-chair of the technical department in the People's Municipality in al-Hasakah city, Khalil Othman, attributed the reason of the constructional prosperity to the investment of capital within the region as well as the investment abroad, in addition to the state of stability and the increase of the population of the return of the people who emigrated to their homes.

"We are working with all means to prevent such abuses," Othman said. "We have received some complaints about slums and we stand seriously on this issue to prevent population inflation."
