Clashes escalated in Amed

HPG's media center issued a statement stating that their forces carried out a series of military operations against the Turkish occupation army in the countryside of Şirnex and Amed governorates, and the operations resulted in killing a number of soldiers of the Turkish occupation army.

According to the statement, the guerrillas carried out a military operation on August 7 against a unit of the Turkish army on Garûn hill in ​​Colemêrg district of Şemzînan which resulted in killing one soldier and wounding another.

The statement also said that the forces of the Turkish occupation army carried out a military offensive operation on August 1 in the area between Licê and Hênê district in Amed and the statement added, "On August 2, clashes broke out between our forces and the Turkish occupation forces which continued until the morning of August 3 which resulted in killing 3 soldiers of the Turkish occupation army."

HPG also announced the martyrdom of 2 of its fighters during the military operations after they showed heroic resistance against the Turkish occupation army. According to the statement, the martyrs are Şahîn Amed and Azad Rojhilat. Furthermore, the media center will issue a written statement about the details of the identity of the two martyrs.
