Kobanî, whose entire infrastructure was destroyed a few years ago in a fierce war against IS mercenaries, is now thriving with trees and flowers, and has opened many parks and nurseries to create a clean environment.

Despite the poor culture of planting trees and flowers for many in Kobanî, Uncle Adnan Hami, 45, returned to his homeland after years of displacement to practice his hobby of planting trees and flowers, especially since he worked for 15 years in nursery projects in Aleppo.

Adnan has been displaced to Aleppo since he was young and with the outbreak of the revolution in Syria, he displaced from there to Turkey before returning to Kobanî again about a year ago.

On his return to his hometown, he continued his work and opened a nursery called "Kobanî Nursery", the first of its kind in Kobanî city.

Adnan nursery is located to the south-west of Kobanî city, where he sells saplings of flowers and fruit trees from 37 varieties, including the trees "grapes, palm trees, strawberries, pomegranates, pine, apricots, olives", flowers and roses " Joury, Musk, Jasmine, crazy, Ripan "in addition to a variety of bouquets of decorations.

Adnan says his goal of opening the nursery is not primarily profitable, but rather his hobby and passion for nature prompted him to open the nursery in Kobanî, as well as earn his daily strength to support his family.

Adnan asserts that he cooperates with the Democratic Autonomous Administration and the people's municipality, in planting trees and roses in the streets and parks, to create a more pure and beautiful environment.

The prices of each tree and flower plant in the nursery of uncle Adnan between 2000 – 2500 SP, and indicates that he brings seedlings from Aleppo, Manbij cities.

"The care of trees and flowers is as a care of a child," says Adnan Hami to ANHA agency. "When I spend the whole day caring for my nursery, I feel refreshed and feel the birth of a new life."

He also thanked the People's Municipality and the Democratic Autonomous Administration in Kobanî, who began planting trees and roses in the city, and paying more attention to the nature and beauty of the city and the preservation of the environment.
