Ain Dewar people plant their crops in other village, after preventing them by Turkish authorities

Turkish occupation has been preventing of Ain Dewar village's farmers at Deirk area for 2 consecutive years from cultivation their agricultural land adjacent to the border with Bakur where the Turkish occupation forces fired at all those approaching to its territory, which has so far injured a number of civilians

The brutal Practices of the Turkish occupation had deprived the farmers from planting about 50 thousand acres of agricultural land, which was considered the most important basket of food for al-Jazzera region's areas

But  Ain Dewar farmers did not surrender to the practices of the Turkish occupation and headed this time to nearby villages also belonging to Deirk and adjacent to Tigris River, such as Jam Sharaf and Shakar Khja villages, which is not affected by the bullets of the Turkish occupation.

As usual Ain Dewar farmers they are preparing to plant the summer season at the end of the winter, where they grow the necessary quantities of nurseries in their orchards inside the village or the courtyards of their homes in hope that they can plant later in fields adjacent to the border, but the Turkish occupation prevented them this year from cultivating the land Which would have exposed farmers to significant losses from the costs of producing nurseries.

Accordingly, the agricultural offices of the Agriculture Body in al-Jazzera region  to grant agricultural land in Jam Sharaf and Shakar Khja villages for farmers to cultivate and use them for a nominal fee, which is supervised by agricultural offices belonging to Autonomous Administration .

Farmer whose name is  Ezzal-Di Abdullah from Ain Dewar village 's people and currently working in Jam Sharaf village said that the Turkish occupation is firing on farmers and the people who are  trying to plant their orchards, and prevent people from approaching their summer and winter crops, in order to force the people to leave their village.

Abdullah pointed out that the agricultural fields in Ain Dewar provided al-Jazzera region with vegetables, and constitute the main economic nerve of the people of the region, because the region is agricultural and the majority of the people depend on agriculture. However, production has now declained due to Turkish Army practices.

The cost of fertilizers and pesticides has negatively affected production

The practices of the Turkish occupation are not the only concern for farmers, as farmers complain this year of the emergence of many harmful pests and insects as well as heat wave during the month of July, in addition to the high prices of fertilizers and pesticides, which negatively affected production. According to farmer Ezzal-Din Abdullah.

Crop Protection Committee provided the necessary assistance

Agricultural and Administrator Engineer in the Committee on Crop Protection Fahad Allawi confirmed what the farmers have said that the emergence of the insect Clorada led to the damage of the crop, and pointed out that the technical committees revealed the agricultural fields and provided guidance to farmers on the method of spraying pesticides.

And Allawi added "The crop is fairly good in terms of quantity and production, especially after the farmers are instructed to spray pesticides and eliminate chlorodella, which affected the crop, especially the eggplant, , So we at the crop protection committee will provide the requirements and machinaries for spraying agricultural crops in the area."
