The first orphanage in Kobanî by auspices of women

At the initiative of the Free Women Association in al-Jazeera region and in coordination with its counterpart in the Euphrates region, with the support of external organizations, the first orphanage in Kobani was completed.

In the midst of Rojava revolution and the battles of the people of the area against terrorism, many children have lost their parents, especially Kobanî, which was subjected to many terrorist attacks, but it faced them with fierce resistance by the people of the city, this led the terrorists to massacre the people of the area, especially in 25 June 2015, or after the liberation of the city from ISIS with several months.

As a result of this massacre, dozens of children remained orphans without a father and mother, deprived of much education because they received lack of interest from society.

In order to build a bright future for these children, the Free Women's Front in the Euphrates region has established a home to embrace these orphaned children, secure a safe place for them to care for and give greater importance to them.

The orphanage project was launched in 2015 and recently completed. The children will receive training, cultural and language courses (Arabic, Kurdish and English) as well as a program to teach them about computers, arts and sports.

The orphanage consists of two buildings, the first building will consist of three floors, in which training and educational courses will be given, the second building will be for children's accommodation, both buildings will have 21 rooms, as well as a playground.

In August, the center will host 50 children from Kobanî city where 18 women will take care of them, and a number of teachers will be appointed to teach them.

The Keska Sora Alan is due to be opened soon, according to the house's supervisors.

"The aim of this center is to embrace orphaned children and provide them with a healthy life away from the problems of society and rehabilitate them in all aspects of life, through training, educational and cultural courses," the representative of the Women's Front in Kobanî canton, Fidan Derai said to ANHA agency.

She confirmed that these children need more care and affection, so the house will ensure that they are given the best care and attention.
