“Book exhibition is opportunity for peoples to communicate”

Egyptian writer and journalist Sayed Abdel Fattah, who participated in the second book exhibition, explained that it is a great and important opportunity for communication between people in Rojava and abroad, and reflects the efforts of Autonomous Administration despite the war conditions in Syria, but the role of culture and thought in the construction and development process cannot be neglected.

On July 20, the second book exhibition in Rojava was inaugurated under the slogan "With Reading We Live" sponsored by the Culture and Art Body in Qamişlo city in al-Jazeera region of North Syria, with the participation of dozens of publishing houses and cultural and literary institutions, in addition to a number of guests.

With the invitation of the Culture and Art Authority in al-Jazeera canton, the Egyptian writer and journalist and the head of Cairo Center for Kurdish Studies Sayed Abdel Fattah attended the second book exhibition in Rojava as honor guest and to sign his book "Adventure of an Egyptian journalist in ISIS state"

Fattah has first visited Rojava in 2014 to carry out a press mission on the front lines and to monitor and highlight the role of the Kurdish fighters in facing ISIS' danger

The book, talks about field visits to the fighting fronts and meetings with fighters and those who work on an executive and political activists in Rojava. The meetings were organized in a book "Adventure of an Egyptian journalist in ISIS state" the first edition of the book was published in Egypt and the second edition will be published under the auspices of the Culture and Art Body in al-Jazeera canton, after signing the book at the second book exhibition

In his book, he discusses the role of the Kurdish woman fighter in the war in particular. He noted, “It is a commendable role, it is not known in the Arab area that there is a woman fighter who stands on an equal level with the men at fronts without discrimination between them."

During an interview with ANHA, Fattah said that he had met with a number of fighters to monitor their experience in war and fighting to liberate their land from "terrorism" and to transfer their experience to Arab and Egyptian public opinion.

Mr. Fattah explained that media has neglected to some extent communicating with the other, and in knowing the truth of the Kurdish role in struggle and facing the danger of ISIS.

At the end of his speech, he pointed out that the exhibition in light of the available possibilities is a beautiful and distinguished exhibition, he hoped that the next sessions of the exhibition will include participation outside Syria to emphasize the exhibition's message."
