Local vegetables decline  increasing  people to buy it

In conjunction with the start of the summer vegetable harvest season in the countryside of Ain Issa district belonging to Girê Spî/Tel-Abyed, the region is witnessing a quick decline in prices, which  has declined by 60 percent compared to the previous months.

The reason for the low prices for the spread of large areas planted with vegetables in rural areas, especially on the banks of the River Balikh, which has been achieved self-sufficiency for the people of the region of vegetables and provides more jobs.

The vegetable shops in the district are attracting people from the region to buy fresh vegetables on a daily basis. Some of them took advantage of the appropriate conditions in conjunction with the low prices and quality of the collection and storage of the winter supply through means of drying and storage by bags and utensils prepared for this purpose.

Summer vegetables are distinguished by their quality and health because they are natural compared to winter vegetables, which are mainly based on storage in green houses and their need for fertilizers and chemicals that help their growth.

The vegetable sellers and people say that the prices of vegetables have declined more than half compared to the previous months, so that the price of tomatoes to 125SY pounds after the winter was 300SY pounds.

In this regard, farmer Saoud al-Abdullah noted that the rural people are self -sufficient due to the cultivation of vegetables in their land at a small cost compared to their purchase from the market.

The two citizen whose names are Mohammed al-Issa and Abdul Razzaq al-Ismail confirmed that "the vegetables in the market are of a quality and price suitable for those with limited income in the region."

AL-Nayef explained that other reasons for the low prices of vegetables available in the near by markets have been allocated  for the sale of vegetables such as Souq al-Hall ( vegetable market) in al-Raqqa city .

In addition, the Supply Committee in the People's Municipality in the district  contributes to regulating the prices of vegetables through its control of the markets and setting a margin of profit between 30-40 lira per kilogram for vegetables.
